Each year on January 1st, the Catholic Church celebrates World Day of Peace.Pope Francis invites Catholics to embrace those who endure perilous journeys and hardships in order to find peace. He encourages us to use a “contemplative gaze”, recognizing that we are all part of God’s family. Pope Francis urges us to turn our gaze toward migrants and refugees, but also toward cities where we live and to our elected officials, “bearing in mind, that is, the needs of all members of the human family and the welfare of each.” Please read the 2018 World Peace Day Message here. Catholic Relief Services has put together this helpful guide to use in bringing the message of peace to action in our daily lives.
