U.S. Senators are considering gun violence prevention legislation, and they need to hear your concerns and priorities.
Please join people of faith in a national call-in day 1-888-897-0174 to legislators on Tuesday, April 9, to urge them to:
- Require universal background checks for all gun purchases
- Ban semi-automatic assault weapons and high-capacity magazines
- Make gun trafficking a federal crime
- Improve access to mental health services
Legislation to be voted on in the Senate is expected to include the provisions on background checks and gun trafficking, but not the bans on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines, despite support for those measures by the public. Senators need to know that their constituents see those provisions as critical to ensuring the safety of our communities, our families and our children.
You may find information on the call-in day here.
